Hi Scott, I am sorry to hear about your current issues. You might want to refer to this website about the tenants' right, http://www.tenants.org.au/publish/factsheets/index.php. It will explain about tenant's responsibilities and rights. So at least you will know where you're standing at. I think it covers one of your case where the stove is broken as well. Hope it helps.

Great site! I've written a similar article about what you can and cannot bring into Australia: http://www.thejumpingkoala.com/1/post/2011/10/customs-what-you-cannot-bring-into-australia.html

There's also articles about essential migration tips and must-do's for all new Australian permanent residents & prospective migrants. Do have a read when you have the time. Cheers!

@Jason: I managed to find the incoming passenger card samples in different languages on the DIAC website (Thai included), here is the link: http://www.immi.gov.au/managing-australias-borders/border-security/travel/passenger-cards/samples.htm
It was one of those tiny links that you probably missed or wasn't up yet. Hope that helps :)

Hi Jason,

Thanks. I don't have samples of the passenger card in other languages. Although IMMI has mentioned that they do have the passenger card available in different languages (refer to the URL below), Thai is one of them. I think they should put it on their website, I'm totally agreed with you.

Hi Rachelle,

I'm not sure either, but usually when someone want to continue the finance from the previous owner isn't as easy as it sounds.

It looks like the buyer still need to talk to the previous owner's bank and might need to re-apply the loan again, unless he/she already has re-approval from their own financial institution with quite a bit the same amount of what the previous owner's loan on that car.

I hope it helps.

I am wondering if you know anything about taking over a Lease. I have heard that leases from a few years ago, can be bought from those owners and a person can just take over their monthly payments for them. Apparently leases from a few years ago were getting a much better rate - one that you could not get now if you wanted to lease the same car. Does anyone know if this information is accurate? Or where to look into it further. Any info would be great. Thank you.
